Highland Park, IL May, 2007 - 2007 marks the 10th anniversary of ATI Graphics, a full-service design firm now based in Highland Park, Ill.

Founded in Chicago by owner Larry Bloom, ATI Graphics specializes in print graphic design, web design and development, e-commerce and custom database design, corporate photography, and digital imaging, including expert retouching and restoration, photo business cards and digital image recovery.

Bloom began the company at the suggestion of his former employer, Kodak Processing Labs (KPL), as a way to offer outlab graphic services to KPL commercial labs across the country. Initial services included photo finishing, graphic design and specialty products including photo business cards, which remain a staple of ATI’s business.

In 1999, Bloom began offering Website design and development at the request of one of his clients. This part of business took off with a steady stream of high-end photo studios and event planners needing an online presence.

Over the last few years, the business has increased significantly, with ATI Graphics hiring programmers and designers, upgrading hardware and software and expanding its list of services and the size of its projects.  While previously, ATI had a niche in the high-end photo studio and event industry, clients now include a wide variety of industries.

“My goal was to start my own business at the age of 30,” said Bloom, who turns 40 at the end of this year. “While there have been bumps along the way as with any business, I have been very fortunate to do something I love and find success at it. The word-of-mouth referrals keep coming in – that tells me I am doing something right.”

Last month, Bloom moved his office from Wrigleyville in Chicago to Highland Park, Ill., where he and his wife purchased a new home. The move has allowed ATI Graphics the opportunity to further expand its services including the addition of corporate photography services, such as in-studio and on-site headshots.
